Fresh CCTV footage circulating on social media has shed more light on the alleged armed robbery involving a Mobile Money (MoMo) vendor and a police inspector identified as Bright Appiah Danquah.

The disturbing footage, shared by Republic Media Gh, reportedly captures portions of the encounter between the suspect and the victim, Victoria Arko, moments before money was allegedly stolen from her shop at gunpoint.

How The Incident Unfolded

In the video, the suspect is seen wearing a green Lacoste shirt with a small side bag strapped across his body while holding a mobile phone.

He walks past the front section of the shop towards an entrance at the back before eventually moving out of the camera’s view.

At one point, the man is heard making a phone call before allegedly asking the vendor to look at something he was showing her.

Moments later, the woman appears visibly shaken and begins complying with his instructions, seemingly out of fear for her safety.

Although the suspect’s face is not clearly visible in the footage, many social media users say the video aligns with the victim’s earlier narration of the robbery incident.

Victim Claims GH¢38,600 Was Stolen

According to Victoria Arko, the suspect allegedly made away with GH¢38,600 during the robbery.

Speaking to Crime Check TV on May 11, 2026, she explained that the incident occurred around 1 pm on May 4, 2026, while she was working at her MoMo shop.

“I am a Mobile Money vendor. On May 4, 2026, around 1 pm, a motor rider came to my shop after parking at a distance. He told me to give him my number for someone to make a monetary transaction on it, which I refused,” she recounted.

She added that the interaction quickly turned frightening after the man allegedly pulled out a firearm following the failed transaction attempt.

Police Inspector Arrested

The police inspector Bright Appiah Danquah has since been arrested over his alleged involvement in the robbery and has also been interdicted by the Ghana Police Service.

The incident has sparked widespread reactions online, with many Ghanaians expressing concern over rising attacks on Mobile Money vendors and the alleged involvement of a law enforcement officer in such a serious crime.

The case is expected to fuel renewed conversations about security for MoMo operators across the country, many of whom continue to handle large sums of cash with limited protection.
