The officers stopped a commercial vehicle travelling along the Banda Nkwanta-Teslima Road after becoming suspicious of the activities of the occupants.
A search of the vehicle reportedly uncovered 73 parcels of suspected cannabis concealed among other goods.
Police said the driver and a female passenger allegedly offered the officers GH¢300,000 to ignore the discovery and allow them to continue their journey.
The officers refused the offer, arrested the suspects, impounded the vehicle and secured the suspected narcotics for further investigation.
3. Volta Officers Reject US$20,000 Cocaine Bribe
In January 2026, officers in the Volta Region rejected a reported US$20,000 bribe during an operation involving suspected cocaine trafficking.
Reports indicated that officers intercepted a vehicle suspected of transporting cocaine and that the suspect allegedly offered the cash in an attempt to avoid arrest.
The officers refused the offer and proceeded with the arrest and seizure of the suspected narcotics.
