The founder of Glorious Wave Church International, Emmanuel Badu Kobi, has stirred fresh controversy after claiming he spiritually influenced the outcome of the New Patriotic Party’s presidential primaries to stop Kennedy Ohene Agyapong from becoming the party’s flagbearer.
Speaking during an interview with Blakk Rasta on 3FM’s Urban Blend show on May 14, 2026, Prophet Badu Kobi said he actively prayed against a prophecy by Bernard ElBernard Nelson-Eshun, popularly known as Prophet ElBernard, who had predicted that Kennedy Agyapong would win the race.
Instead, Mahamudu Bawumia emerged victorious as the New Patriotic Party’s presidential candidate.
“God listened to me” — Badu Kobi speaks on failed prophecy
Addressing the failed prediction, Prophet Badu Kobi openly stated that he believed divine intervention overturned Prophet ElBernard’s declaration.
“I stood on the covenant with God. And then I said, ‘God, this can’t happen’. And God listened to me,” he said during the interview.
The outspoken preacher argued that Kennedy Agyapong could not have won the position because of certain remarks he had made against him in the past.
“How can you say a man of God killed his own son and then you want to go and win elections? Never,” Prophet Badu Kobi stated.
He further insisted that although Prophet ElBernard is “a true prophet”, another prophetic voice had spiritually opposed the outcome.
Prophet Nigel Gaisie Mentioned In Alleged Agreement
In another explosive claim, Prophet Badu Kobi revealed that he allegedly met Nigel Gaisie shortly before the NPP primaries and that both men agreed spiritually that Kennedy Agyapong should not emerge victorious.
“On Friday, two days before the elections, I met Prophet Nigel Gaisie, and we held hands. We agreed that he would not become the flagbearer,” he alleged.
According to him, Kennedy Agyapong was destined to become the NPP flagbearer at some point, but not the President of Ghana.
ElBernard’s Public Apology Resurfaces
The comments have reignited conversations surrounding Prophet ElBernard’s widely discussed prophecy and his subsequent apology after the election outcome failed to materialise.

Prophet Badu Kobi claimed he had indirectly advised Prophet ElBernard to get Kennedy Agyapong to publicly address certain controversies, but said he communicated “in proverbs” and expected the message to be understood.
The interview has since generated intense reactions on social media, with many Ghanaians debating the growing influence of prophecies and spiritual declarations in the country’s political landscape.
