For 37 years, Daughters of Glorious Jesus have remained one of Ghana’s most enduring gospel music groups, and the trio says their greatest strength has been unity. Speaking on Joy Prime’s Changes show, the award-winning group said unity has been the foundation of their longevity and the legacy they hope to leave behind in Ghana’s gospel music industry.

Unity has been the foundation of their success
Daughters of Glorious Jesus have built a reputation as one of Ghana’s longest-serving gospel groups, inspiring generations with their music and consistency.
Asked what they would like to be remembered for, lead singer Cynthia Agyare Appiadu gave a simple answer: unity.
According to her, unity is the driving force behind success, whether in music, marriage, family life, churches or the workplace.
“Unity. Where there’s unity, there’s victory.”
She explained that the principle extends beyond the music industry, saying every relationship and organisation thrives when people work together towards a common goal.
The trio believes this shared commitment has enabled them to remain together through nearly four decades, at a time when many music groups struggle to stay united for long.
Humility and faith have strengthened their bond
Beyond unity, the trio said humility has also been central to their remarkable journey.
Edna Sarpong said they hope future generations will remember them as a music group that remained together through humility and the fear of God.
“We also want the generations to come to remember that a music trio was once able to unite themselves through humility and the fear of God.”
She said they hope their experience encourages younger musicians to believe that long-lasting partnerships are possible when shared values come first.
Monica Owusu Ansah also reflected on the unique relationship within the group.
Speaking in Twi, she noted that although Cynthia and Edna are biological sisters, she has become part of their family through decades of working together. She added that maintaining their friendship throughout marriage, ministry and music has made their journey even more meaningful.
Their reflections offer a glimpse into the values that have sustained one of Ghana’s most respected gospel groups. More than their music, the trio hopes to be remembered for showing that lasting success can be built on unity, humility and faith, qualities they believe can inspire families, workplaces and future generations alike.
