Kofi Adams clears up Queiroz salary reports
Kofi Adams said claims that Queiroz’s monthly salary stands at $100,000 are inaccurate, explaining that the veteran coach’s actual remuneration is $80,000.
“Carlos Queiroz earns $80,000 a month, not the $100,000 that had been speculated,” the Buem Member of Parliament stated.
The clarification ends months of speculation over the financial terms of Queiroz’s deal with the Ghana Football Association (GFA), which were not officially made public after his appointment.
Queiroz was named Black Stars head coach ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup after Otto Addo was dismissed in March. The 73-year-old signed a short-term agreement with the GFA to lead the national team during the tournament.
The debate over the coach’s salary came as fans and football stakeholders closely followed Ghana’s preparations and performance at the global competition.

Queiroz guides Ghana to historic World Cup milestone
Despite having limited time to prepare the team, Queiroz helped Ghana reach the knockout stage of the FIFA World Cup for the first time since the 2010 tournament in South Africa.
The Black Stars began their Group C campaign with a 1-0 win over Panama before securing a goalless draw against England.
A 2-1 defeat to Croatia in their final group match saw Ghana finish third in the group, but the results were enough to secure qualification for the Round of 32.
Ghana’s World Cup journey later ended after a 1-0 defeat to Colombia in the knockout stage.
Although the team exited before the quarter-finals, Queiroz’s performance has reportedly received positive reviews from the Ghana Football Association and the Ministry of Sports and Recreation.

Following Ghana’s World Cup campaign, the Portuguese coach is expected to enter discussions over a possible contract extension.
Reports suggest the GFA is considering a two-year extension that would keep Queiroz in charge of the Black Stars beyond the World Cup.
A longer-term deal would give the coach more time to build the team ahead of future international competitions, while also allowing the GFA to assess his progress with the national side.
